Yes, National Ambulance Service - 108 has successfully received over 6, 00,130 Emergencies in Himachal Pradesh since its launch. This goes to prove the popularity of the service among all sections of the society in the state.25th December, 2010, the day when this Life savior service was launched in the state, no one had ever thought that it would turn into such a success. Providing Emergency services 24 x 7, in a mountainous state having wide variations in climatic conditions is in itself a challenging task and 108 life savior team is performing this task exceptionally well.It’s our pleasure to inform you that within a time period 4 years and 6 months, 108 National Ambulance Service has achieved the milestone by successfully receiving 6,00,130 emergencies in Himachal Pradesh, out of total emergencies 5,80,524 emergencies are medical emergencies, 15,803 are police emergencies and 3,608 are fire emergencies.
The 108 Emergency Services run by GVK EMRI and Government of Himachal Pradesh in Public Private Partnership has become a synonym of trust and promptness in responding to all kind of emergencies, besides Himachal Pradesh, GVK EMRI is also providing Emergency Management Services in PPP with 17 states and 2 union territories with a fleet of more than 7000 ambulances and more than 40,000 employee.The service caters to Police, Fire and Medical emergencies 24X7 across the state through a toll free number which can be dialed from any mobile or landline without adding any code. On dialing ‘108’, appropriate help be it an ambulance, police or fire brigade is sent. In case of medical emergency, ambulance of 108 is fully equipped with all the necessary medicines and equipments that are required to handle any emergency.
Also there is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in every ambulance, who is trained to handle all kind of emergencies, be it related to pregnancy, cardiac, trauma or snake bite, etc. EMT provides the necessary medical care while the victim is shifted to the nearest hospital. This is a totally free service and no charges are taken from the users. This service has been especially a boon to pregnant women with more than 4,896 new- born having born with assistance of 108 Staff in the ambulance as well as at Scene.On this event State Head, GVK EMRI 108 Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Mehul Sukumaran congratulated the entire team of GVK EMRI Himachal Pradesh for this wonderful achievement and encouraged them to perform better.
