Branding it as another U-turn, Kiran Choudhry, Leader of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party, has strongly condemned the decision of the BJP Government, led by the Chief Minister, Mr Manhohar Lal Khattar, to put on hold 20 per cent reservation for the Schedules Caste (SC) employees in departmental promotions okayed in January, 2015.In a statement issued here today, the former Excise and Taxation Minister said that barely four months after clearing quota in promotions for the Dalit staff, the BJP Government has gone back on it, upsetting the staff who are feeling let down. “It is not for nothing that the Khattar Government is being called a government of U-turns, let-downs and going back on the promises made to the people,” she remarked.
“Going back on the poll promises has now become second nature with the Khattar Government.
It is not for the first time that it has taken a U-turn on its promise. There is a long list of the unfulfilled promises. These include paying government employees Punjab pay-scales; doubling the education allowance for their children; and regularizing ad hoc employees. In the run-up to the polls, the BJP had also promised to increase the old age pension to Rs 2,000, but it played with the sentiments of the people and added insult to injury while increasing it by only by Rs 200 per month,” Ms Choudhry added. This exposes the hollowness of the false claims made by the BJP to the people. Be it employees, farmers, students or traders, all are feeling let down by the Khattar Government, and have already begun to realize their mistake of having voted the BJP to power, Ms Choudhry added.
