rovincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana Tuesday complimented the people of Nagrota for rejecting malicious propaganda being unleashed by obstructionists and remaining steadfast in their resolve to develop the Constituency.Making a mention of attempts being made by elements inimical to progress and development of Nagrota by indulging in falsehood and inciting passions, Mr Rana, who is contesting from the constituency as NC candidate, said these will not detract him or the development-craving people of the area from their chosen path of achieving set goals.
“Our journey to progress and development cannot stop because of vicious atmosphere being unsuccessfully created by some elements for their vested interest”, Rana said while addressing an election meeting at Tada.He saluted the political wisdom and valour of the people for not getting swayed by emotive slogans and false accusations because they want Nagrota to grow as a most vibrant constituency of the State. He said his endeavour during the past seven years has been to take all the people along to change Nagrota’s profile and shape the destiny of its people, irrespective of caste, creed or colour.
Rana said unity of the people and harmonious growth of the society was important for him more than anything else as he has developed an emotional attachment with the constituency. “Our bonding is based on mutual respect for each other and the common objective of taking this constituency to pinnacles of development”, he said, adding that no amount of provocations can disturb this camaraderie. He said those sowing seeds of mistrust between peoples were actually enemies of the larger interest of Nagrota. “They don’t want Nagrota to have better road network, dependable power and water supply, effective utility services and facilities required for ameliorating the lot of women, children, old and young”, he said and asked even those, creating obstacles in this effort, to join the grand odyssey of development by shunning their myopic agenda.
The National Conference candidate said he is a firm believer of serving the people according to better of ones capabilities, as serving people is serving God. He said he will continue to strive for and talk about improving sanitation, ensuring various utility services, expanding education and health, giving impetus to rural development works and so on because these have potential of changing the lives of people, especially the younger generation. Rana expressed his gratitude to the people for becoming his co-travelers in the path of development. “Because of your determination and grit, I have been able to deliver on ground and achieving the set goals in time bound manner”, he said adding that this is beginning towards the larger objective of changing overall scenario of Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
