Describing people of Nagrota as torch-bearers of development, Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana on Sunday said their commitment to the constituency has been inspirational for him.“Your vision has been my mission, which I will accomplish with sincerity of purpose”, he told election meetings at at Sidhra, Bajalta, Kanna Chadgal Upper, Khanpur and Dhokwaziran, while urging them to remain steadfast in their resolve.Rana said development remains elusive unless people strive to achieve it through appropriate projection in different fora. “This is what Nagrota lacked over the years, as a result of which the constituency is still craving for the place it ought to have achieved years ago”, he said while exhorting the people to seize the opportunity of ongoing democratic process for making right decision.
He said that upliftment of people remains his top priority. In this context he referred to various welfare schemes, saying he will pursue these at appropriate levels for implementation through the chosen representatives at the grass roots level. He said his thrust area during next six years will be to consolidate the schemes completed and taking up new ones as per requirement of each area.The Provincial President, who is NC candidate for the constituency, said that holistic development in each sector forms core of his priorities and these can be realised only when the people nurture similar commitment as they have been showing now.
Cautioning people against elements vitiating the atmosphere by exploiting public sentiment, Mr Rana said those aspiring for progress and development of Nagrota will frustrate the designs of obstructionists. He said cynicism no place in a constituency which is bubbling for development. In this context, he referred to the people’s vision about transforming the constituency as Nava Jammu and said this will be made achievable in next few years.Rana said that Nagrota is at the threshold of massive development which will benefit not only the people inhabiting in the constituency but its peripheries as well, in view of its potential for futuristic growth. He said this potential has to chanelised in right direction so as to bring cheer in the lives of people.The Provincial President urged the people to join him in this grand effort of steering Nagrota to progress, development and prosperity.
