Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has launched a determined campaign against drugs. In line with the directives of DGP Gaurav Yadav, a large-scale search operation was carried out today by the police force across 13 police stations in Fazilka district to dismantle drug networks.

To oversee the operation, IG Baljot Singh Rathore, IPS, GRP Patiala, reached Fazilka district. Under the command of SSP Varinder Singh Brar, a significant police force, including two SPs, four DSPs, and 13 SHOs, conducted thorough searches at numerous locations to target suspicious individuals and activities.

IG Baljot Singh Rathore and SSP Varinder Singh Brar personally visited Fazilka and Jalalabad to assess the ongoing campaign. Speaking to the media, IG Rathore stated that the Punjab government has launched a decisive battle against drug trafficking and that the Punjab Police will ensure strict action against drug dealers.

He encouraged those battling addiction to seek help as soon as possible and assured that the police are committed to cutting off drug supply chains.

Public Participation in the Anti-Drug Campaign

SSP Brar emphasized the importance of public participation in this campaign, urging citizens to report any known drug dealings in their locality to the police without hesitation. He assured that the identity of informants would remain confidential and that strict action would be taken against offenders.

Furthermore, he encouraged parents to openly communicate with their children and motivate them toward a positive lifestyle to prevent them from falling into drug addiction.
