The police have adopted a zero-tolerance policy to eradicate drugs, and those involved in the drug trade will not be spared under any circumstances. These views were expressed by SSP Shubham Agarwal while talking to the media during the search of the houses of suspects at various places, including village Tarkhan Majra and Master Colony of Mandi Gobindgarh, during the search operation conducted by the Punjab Police under the war on drugs campaign today.

The SSP said that drugs have become a serious problem, and people from all sections of society should cooperate with the police administration in eradicating drugs. He gave a clear warning to the drug peddlers and said that there is still time for them to leave the drug business and adopt the right path; otherwise, the police will take strict steps to eradicate drugs.

The SSP said that the police have also attached the properties of many people involved in the drug business in the past and have put them in jails. He said that under today's search operation, the police have registered 09 cases, and 10 accused have been arrested.

During the search, 08 boxes of illegal liquor, 03 liters of hooch, 310 narcotic pills, 1.5 grams of heroin, 20 narcotic injections, and 500 grams of ganja were recovered. Mr. Shubham Agarwal said that the police is also working hard for the de-addiction of drug patients and bringing them into the mainstream of society.

He said that if any drug addict wants to quit drugs, he can contact the police. The police will also help that person to get off his drugs and start his business. Mr. Shubham Agarwal appealed to the village panchayats to pass resolutions about the persons involved in the drug trade and not to have any kind of association with the drug traders.

He said that the police will not spare any person involved in illegal activities. He appealed to the people to give information to the police about the persons involved in the drug trade. The name of the person giving the information will be kept confidential.

During this search operation, SP (D) Rakesh Yadav, DSP Bassi Pathana Raj Kumar, DSP Khushpreet Singh, DSP Nikhil Garg, DSP Gurdeep Singh, and around 300 police personnel were present.
