Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said horticulture farmers need not be worried due to harsh weather as the Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme of the state government is solving their problems. Sh. Rana has called upon the farmers of the state to take advantage of the scheme. Giving information, a spokesperson of the Horticulture Department said the Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme has been started by the department and the main objective of this scheme is to encourage farmers to sow high risk horticulture crops that give more income instead of traditional grain crops.

He said all the farmers registered on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal https://fasal.haryana.gov.in are eligible to enroll for this scheme. He further informed that the farmers of the state can voluntarily enroll for the scheme by paying the prescribed contribution amount for insurance.

He said vegetable and spice crops are insured for Rs 30,000 per acre and fruit cultivation for Rs 40,000 per acre. In this, the farmer has to pay an insurance amount of Rs 750 for vegetable and spice cultivation and Rs 1000 per acre for fruit cultivation.

For more information about the scheme, the concerned District Horticulture Officer or toll-free number 1800-180-2021 can be contacted.
