Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labor Minister, Sh. Anil Vij attended multiple public meetings in Tangri Par areas of Ambala Cantonment today in view of the Municipal Council elections. He sought votes for BJP’s Pradhan candidate Swarn Kaur and all 32 BJP candidates contesting from various wards.

In the evening, he addressed gatherings in support of BJP ward candidates, including Aanchal Saini (Ward 11, Rampur-Sarsehri), Satish Dhiman (Ward 12, Pooja Vihar), Ritu Sharma (Ward 13, Prabhu Prem Puram), and Naresh Sharma (Ward 14, near Tangri Dam). Additionally, he attended a tea program in support of Reena Shakya (Ward 2).

*Tried to pull the chariot of development alone in Ambala Cantonment; now need BJP chief and 32 councilors -Vij*

Cabinet Minister Anil Vij stated that he has been working alone for years since there were no Municipal Council elections. He explained that he could not oversee every street, road, and drain single-handedly, although he tried his best. He has worked on roads, drains, and streetlights throughout the city.

Now, to ensure development reaches every street and household, he needs allies. If BJP wins the Municipal Council elections, development will reach every neighborhood without obstacles. Since the BJP is in power at both the center and the state, and Vij himself is the BJP MLA and minister from Ambala Cantonment, having a BJP-led Municipal Council will further accelerate development.

He urged people to elect BJP’s chief candidate Swarn Kaur and all 32 councilor candidates, emphasizing that he needs 66 hands for development work and 66 eyes to monitor progress.

*Took back land from Congress and built a magnificent 22-acre Subhash Park -Vij*

Sh. Vij recalled that when Bhajan Lal was Chief Minister, Congress leaders illegally took over 22 acres of land near Tribune Colony at a throwaway price of ₹50 per square yard. However, after a legal battle in the High Court, Vij reclaimed the land and built Haryana’s finest Subhash Park.

*No national or regional party dared to field candidates against BJP -Vij*

Addressing public meetings, Vij stated that no national or regional party had the courage to field candidates against BJP in the elections. They backed out, leaving only a few independent candidates in the fray.He remarked that Ambala Cantonment had long suffered from a lack of development. People used to long for basic infrastructure projects.

Under his tenure, major works like the Ambala-Saha four-lane road, a ring road, Subhash Park, and a new grain market have been completed. Additionally, a memorial is being built in honor of the 1857 freedom fighters, as Ambala Cantonment was where the first freedom struggle began before spreading to Meerut, Delhi, and beyond. Vij fought for 20 years to get the memorial approved, and now, the largest such monument in Asia is being constructed here.

He added that people previously had to travel to Ambala City for minor administrative tasks, but now, a new SDM Secretariat in Ambala Cantonment houses 30 government offices in one building. He also developed international-level sports facilities, including a football stadium, all-weather swimming pool, gymnastics hall, and badminton hall.
