Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney held a special meeting with industrialists, brick kiln, and sheller owners to tackle the issue of stubble management during the upcoming paddy season. 

The meeting aimed to encourage the use of stubble as fuel and raw material in various industries, reducing the practice of burning it in fields.Mrs. Sawhney emphasized that stubble can be a valuable resource for industries, providing fuel and raw materials. She urged the industrialists to cooperate in storing and utilizing stubble, ensuring a cleaner environment and promoting sustainable practices.

The Deputy Commissioner Ensuring the availability of sufficient storage facilities for stubble during the paddy season also Collaborating with industrialists to utilize stubble as fuel and raw material, reducing dependence on other resources.She directed that Promoting sustainable practices and reducing environmental pollution by discouraging the burning of stubble in fields.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Pollution Control Board, including Executive Officer Sukhdev Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer Surinderpal Singh, SDO Punjab Pollution Control Board Mr. Vinod Kumar, District Development and Panchayat Officer Mr. Sandeep Malhotra, Industrialist Kamal Dalmiya, Mr. Ashok Sethi, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Society Gagandeep Kaur, District Food and Civil Supplies Officer Mr. Varinder Kumar  and other prominent personalities.Caption: Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney interacting with industrialists and stakeholders on stubble management.
