Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla presided over a felicitation ceremony at Raj Bhavan today to commemorate the foundation day of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. On the occasion, he honored the citizens of these states residing in Himachal Pradesh by presenting them with the traditional Himachali cap and shawl.
The Governor engaged in a detailed discussion with them on the rich culture, heritage, customs, and traditions of their respective states. Lady Governor and Chairperson of the State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section Janaki Shukla also graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor emphasized that such events were organized to promote the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and foster fraternity and national unity among the people. He highlighted that every state in India has its own distinct cultural identity and this diversity was the true strength of the nation.
He further stated that exposure to different cultures, traditions and practices promote mutual understanding and strengthen the bonds between states. Citizens from Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram also shared their experiences and expressed their gratitude for the recognition and warm hospitality extended to them.
Secretary to the Governor C.P. Verma along with other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
