Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that a person who spends an hour in the field every day remains healthy and never falls ill. He emphasized that every school in the state should incorporate an hour of sports into their routine to promote physical health. This, he said, will not only improve health but also boost self-confidence.
Governor Sh Bandaru Dattatraya was speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the second edition of the Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament organized by the UT Cricket Association at Tau Devi Lal Sports Stadium in Sector-3 Panchkula near here today.
In the final match, the Hiims Hawks team defeated the Wildwoods Warriors to win the title. The Governor honored the winning team by presenting them with a trophy. Shivam Bamri was awarded the Man of the Tournament title, while Rahul Singh was named the best player and best bowler of the final match. Devansh Kaushik received the title of best batsman.
Sh Bandaru Dattatraya said that by participating in this competition, the players have demonstrated their skills, physical strength, and mental toughness. He wished them all great achievements in life. He also mentioned that today marks the birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Ji, who played a significant role in eliminating social evils such as child marriage and Sati Pratha.
He paid tributes to him and encouraged everyone to embrace the values and messages he advocated.The Governor shared that after receiving recognition from the BCCI in July 2019, and following 35 years of relentless effort, the UT Cricket Association has achieved significant milestones.
Over 500 players from UTCA have represented Chandigarh in BCCI tournaments. He also mentioned that the UTCA organizes more than 60 BCCI approved matches each year, including the prestigious Ranji Trophy games.Sh Bandaru Dattatraya said that this competition will undoubtedly motivate all the players and boost their self-confidence.
As a result, the players will showcase their skills in higher-level competitions, bringing more glory to the country. He added that through these competitions, players will have the opportunity to meet and interact, fostering a spirit of love, friendship, brotherhood, and harmony. He emphasized that patience and discipline are essential for success in life, and in sports, they are the foundation of victory. A true player overcomes challenges in the game and triumphs.
