The Punjab Vidhan Sabha Committee on Local Bodies convened on Friday to review on-going and other development projects in Ludhiana and Patiala cities, as well as works by the National Highways Authority of India and PSPCL, at Bachat Bhawan in the district administrative complex.

The meeting was chaired by the committee's Chairman MLA Madan Lal Bagga, along with committee members including MLAs Ashok Prashar Pappi, Inderjit Kaur Mann, Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Dr. Jeevanjyot Kaur, Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora, and Kuljit Singh Randhawa. The meeting was also attended by MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu and MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina.

The committee engaged in detailed discussions with officials on various development works as well as issues related to street lights and the sewerage system. Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar, Deputy Mayor Prince Johar, Chairman of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust Tarsem Singh Bhinder, Chairman of the District Planning Committee Sharanpal Singh Makkar, Local Bodies Director Gurpreet Singh Khaira, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, along with other officials from the district administration and municipal corporations/committees.

Before the meeting commenced, a two-minute silence was observed in memory of late Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, who passed away earlier this year. After the meeting, the committee members led by Chairman MLA Bagga also visited the Haibowal dairy complex and MC workshop on Hambran road.
