Former Health Minister of Punjab and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu exposed the hollow policies of the AAP government regarding the health department. He said that the Center of Excellence for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders building, located in Sector-79, Mohali, which was established by the previous Congress government due to his efforts, is now turning into ruins under the AAP government.
Targeting the Punjab government, he said, “The state of Punjab’s health department is collapsing. Machinery worth lakhs has been stolen from hospitals—who is responsible for this? Will the Health Minister or Chief Minister bear the cost, as these failures are due to their mistakes?”
Taking a dig at the AAP government, he said that this hospital was specially built for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders and their families. However, under the AAP government, it is now being ruined. It was the first-of-its-kind hospital in Punjab for kids with autism.
Furthermore, he said, “It has been three years since the AAP government came to power in Punjab, and they have done nothing except publish false advertisements.” The so-called health revolution model of the Bhagwant Mann government is now clearly failing.
On the misuse of Punjab’s funds by the AAP government, Sidhu stated that the Bhagwant Mann government has completely destroyed Punjab’s health department. Emphasizing the need for immediate action, Sidhu urged the Chief Minister to take a personal interest in these crucial projects and direct the concerned departments to complete them at the earliest.
He stressed that this project should be restarted immediately, as it is essential for individuals with special needs. He concluded, “Action should be taken against those responsible for the thefts and negligence in hospital buildings so that a strong message is sent about the proper use of public money.”
