The District Administration Reasi has launched a comprehensive mass awareness program to educate the public about the new  criminal laws—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023. The initiative aims to educate the citizens about these transformative legal reforms and their implications.

Marking the commencement of the campaign, District Magistrate Nidhi Malik chaired an awareness program here at General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College. She emphasized the significance of spreading legal awareness among the public. “The people need to know about how these laws will have a positive impact on society, particularly benefiting women and children through strengthened protective measures” she added.

She spoke in detail about the provisions aimed at prompt justice delivery and public safety. The District Magistrate informed that nine more awareness camps on new laws will be held at the block level to reach a larger audience. She reiterated the commitment of district administration to promote legal literacy so that every citizen understands his rights and responsibilities under the new legal framework.

Other Officials, including SSP Paramvir Singh, ADC Rakesh Kumar, PO ICDS Mohamad Anwar, ASP Iftkhar and  Legal experts also participated in the event, providing insights into the practical applications of the new laws. They engaged in interactive discussions with students and the public, addressing queries and concerns regarding the implementation of these reforms.
