Athar Aamir Khan flags-off group of farmers on exposure tour

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today flagged-off a group of 50 progressive farmer entrepreneurs on exposure cum training programme for a period of six days under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). During the tour, farmers will visit Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana for upgradation of skill & technical know-how regarding cultivation of year round mushroom and floriculture on commercial scale to generate employment opportunities among the unemployed youth.

Chief Agriculture Officer Ravinder Kumar, District Agriculture Officer, Agriculture Extension Officers and other concerned officers and officials were present on the occasion. While interacting with the farmers, DC said that the objective of the tour is to make the farmers aware about the latest technical advancements & knowledge and besides progressive farming practices being adopted in mushroom and Floriculture sectors.

District Agriculture Officer, on the occasion advised the progressive farmers to share and disseminate the knowledge gained during the tour among the farmers back home, so that they can also adopt the latest agriculture techniques to improve their farm yields and income in the said sectors.
