Punjab New and Renewable Energy Sources, Printing and Stationery, Administrative Reforms and Grievance Redressal and Employment Generation and Training, Aman Arora, today inaugurated a new modern bus stand built at a cost of Rs 1.31 crore in the local town of Longowal.
To fulfill the decades-old demand of the residents of the area, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora made tireless efforts at the personal level, due to which for the first time after independence, the passengers were provided with the facility of a bus stand.
Along with this, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora also announced to rename the newly constructed bus stand after Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Ji. Apart from this, on this occasion, Minister and Aam Aadmi Party State President Aman Arora distributed solar lights to the panchayats of 11 villages around Longowal.
Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that he is fulfilling the responsibility given by the people of the constituency with full honesty and under this, a modern bus stand has been constructed and handed over to the people of Longowal within just one year.
He said that if the intentions of the political leaders are good, then big tasks become easy and all the representatives of the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government are working with full dedication to solve the problems of the people.
He said that to fulfill this decades-old demand, about 0.54 acres of Mandi Board land was given to the Municipal Council Longowal on lease and bus stand was constructed by the Public Works Department within record time.
He said that with the construction of this bus stand, the local Municipal Council will initially start earning an income of 90,000 per month which will be spent on the development of Longowal itself. On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister said that soon the Patwarkhana of Longowal will also be renovated, for which Rs 34 lakh has been sanctioned.
He said that he is committed to fulfilling every promise made to the people during the five-year tenure of his government. On this occasion, among others, XEN PWD Ajay Garg, Municipal Council President Parminder Kaur Brar, E.O. Balkrishan, Kamalpal Singh Brar, OSD of the Cabinet Minister Amritpal Sidhu, Raj Singh Raju, Vicky Vashisht, Balkar Singh Sidhu, MC Vicky Singh, MC Gurmeet Singh Fauji, Sukhpal Singh Bajwa, Subedar Mela Singh, Ranjit Singh Kukka, Shaminder Kaur Gill, MC Baljinder Kaur, Gurjant Khan, Narinder Sharma, Balwinder Singh Dhillon, Hardeep Singh Sippy, Sarpanch Darshan Singh, Sarpanch Nihal Singh, Sarpanch Jarnail Singh, Sarpanch Satgur Singh Sheron, Avtar Singh Dulat, Sukh Sahoke, Davinder Bhullar, Amritpal Singla along with large number of local residents were also present.
