Paras Health, Panchkula, successfully organized a Cancer Awareness and Screening Camp as part of its month-long initiative, "Umeed Ke Sitare", aimed at promoting early detection and cancer awareness.

The event saw participation from over 200 individuals, offering free consultations and screenings, including complimentary mammography, discounted PSA tests, radiology, and lab investigations.

With cancer cases rising sharply in India, breast cancer has emerged as the most common cancer among women, while cervical cancer remains the second-most prevalent. Timely screenings and preventive measures can significantly reduce the risk of cervical cancer.

Meanwhile, oral and lung cancers continue to pose a major health challenge due to tobacco use and smoking, with late-stage diagnoses making treatment more complex. Early detection through regular screenings is critical in improving survival rates and treatment outcomes.

The program featured insightful discussions led by esteemed oncologists, including Dr. Rajan Sahu, Associate Director of Surgical Oncology, and Dr. Chitresh Aggarwal, Senior Consultant in Medical Oncology.

They emphasized the importance of routine screenings and lifestyle modifications in reducing cancer risks. Dr. Rajan Sahu stated, “Many women remain unaware of the significance of early breast cancer detection.

We urge them to undergo regular mammography and self-examinations to improve early diagnosis and survival rates.”Dr. Chitresh Aggarwal highlighted the preventability of oral and lung cancers, stating, “Tobacco-related cancers can largely be avoided through awareness and education.

Regular screenings enable early detection, making treatment more effective.”A special address by Chief Guest Shri Rakesh Kumar Arya, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Haryana, underscored the vital role of community support and proactive healthcare in the fight against cancer.

Through initiatives like these, Paras Health reaffirms its commitment to advancing cancer care and public health awareness.
