In a significant move to regulate immigration consultancy services, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has directed officials to launch a large-scale inspection drive against immigration consultants to ensure compliance with government guidelines. The directive mandates all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to conduct rigorous checks on registered immigration firms within their jurisdictions.

Dr. Aggarwal emphasized that the initiative aims to safeguard aspiring emigrants from fraudulent practices and ensure that immigration firms operate within the legal framework. "It is imperative that immigration consultants follow the prescribed regulations to prevent any exploitation of individuals seeking opportunities abroad," he stated.

In a compassionate move, the Deputy Commissioner has extended a helping hand to young individuals recently deported from the United States. He assured them of the Jalandhar Administration’s full support in rebuilding their careers through business opportunities, employment assistance, and skill development programs.

Dr. Aggarwal reiterated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, stands firmly by these youths during their time of crisis. "No stone will be left unturned in providing them with the necessary support," he affirmed.

He highlighted the availability of various skill development courses under the state’s Skill Development Mission, which could enhance their employment prospects. Additionally, financial aid is being provided to help them set up their own enterprises.

The Deputy Commissioner also urged aspiring emigrants to always choose legal pathways for immigration to avoid severe financial and personal losses. He advised them to approach only registered immigration consultants, the list of which is available on www.jalandhar.nic.in and www.emigrate.gov.in.

For further assistance, individuals can contact the Protector General of Emigrants helpline at 9530641790. Additionally, the District Employment and Enterprise Bureau (DEEB) has launched a pre-departure orientation training program for those seeking overseas employment.

Interested candidates can reach out to the bureau at helpline number 9056920100 for enrollment. Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Mahajan, Deputy Director of DEEB Neelam Mahey, and Employment Officer Naresh Kumar were present in the meeting.

The administration’s proactive approach aims to ensure transparency in immigration services while extending crucial support to those affected by deportation, reinforcing the government's commitment to safeguarding the interests of its citizens.
