The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed gratitude to the court and extended support to the victimized families after Congress leader and former MP Sajjan Kumar was convicted by Rouse Avenue Court in a 1984 Sikh riots case. AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang said that Sajjan Kumar is clearly guilty in the 1984 Sikh riots, which were sponsored by the Congress party.

He stated that the conviction of Sajjan Kumar has rekindled some hope of justice for the victimized families. Kang remarked that although it has taken decades, the court’s decision is commendable. He said that this judgment has strengthened people's faith in the judicial system.

He expressed hope that other culprits will also be punished soon and Sajjan Kumar will receive the strictest punishment. It is notable that on November 1, 1984, a father and son were killed in the Saraswati Vihar area. In the same case, Rouse Avenue Court's Special Judge Kaveri Baweja convicted Sajjan Kumar on Wednesday.

Sajjan Kumar, who has been in jail for the past six years, was brought to court from prison. The sentence will be decided by the court on February 18.
