In a bid to further enhance governance and accessibility of government services to the citizens of the state, the ambit of Door Step Delivery Services have been expanded to 406 citizen centric services.
Divulging the details about the initiative taken by the Governance Reforms Department of Punjab Government, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain said that in continuation to the existing 43 services started under "Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwaar" scheme, addition of 363 more citizen-centric services, has allowed the people to avail 406 services, being offered in Sewa Kendras, at their doorsteps.
She said that this initiative of offering doorstep delivery of 406 services, included driving licenses, Police Verification and passport applications also. She said that earlier in Dec 2023, 43 services were started by dialing a toll free number 1076 to doorsteps of the residents.
Now, with the addition of 363 more services, the total number increased to 406 services that would cover 29 major government departments. The services now available include those related to driving licenses, passport applications, Police verifications, utility connections, NOCs from district authorities, tenant verification and many more.
The addition of 363 more services further broadens the reach of the scheme, ensuring that essential government services are delivered without unnecessary delays or paperwork. Deputy Commissioner said that as many as 3248 citizen centric services' requests received through door step delivery (Dial 1076) have been processed within time line.
The new initiative has not only made the Citizens able to avoid the hassle of visiting government offices, rather, their documents have been delivered directly to their homes. She said that barring e-stamp and Adhaar Card services, all the services provided through Sewa Kendra will be available at door steps of the citizens with the addition of more services.
