District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today flagged off a group of candidates, here for undergoing specialized training at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Rajbagh, Srinagar. CPO Kupwara, Parvaiz Ahmad and Superintendent ITI Kupwara, Aijaz Majid Kakroo were present on the occasion.

This training program is a part of the ongoing efforts of District Administration Kupwara to equip the youth of Kupwara with industry-relevant skills, enhancing their employability and helping them secure opportunities in the growing hospitality and tourism sectors.

The training will cover various aspects of hospitality management, cooking, and other skill development modules that are essential in today’s competitive job market. While flagging off the candidates, DDC Kupwara expressed hope that the training will prove to be a transformative experience for the participants, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the development of the region.

She also emphasized the importance of such programs in promoting self-reliance and economic growth in the district. The DDC also interacted with the candidates on the occasion.

The group consists of 14 candidates belonging to marginalized sections and border areas of district Kupwara who will undergo training at IHM Rajbagh for one and a half month. The participants will receive hands-on experience and exposure to the latest trends in hospitality services. 

Upon successful completion, the candidates will be awarded certificates that will enhance their prospects of employment in hospitality sectors.
