Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian today asked the police officers to adopt zero-tolerance policy against drugs, crime, and corruption. During a meeting with Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) in his office, the Minister emphasized the need to fully implement the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann regarding effective policing at the grassroots level.
He urged officers to make every effort to provide transparent and responsive policing to the community, stating that inefficiency in delivering services will not be tolerated. Mundian encouraged officers to adopt a humane approach while upholding a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and crime, and he stressed the importance of new technologies to combat criminal activities.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress made by police in recent months concerning drug enforcement. He also called for improvements in the Police Control Room (PCR) system to ensure it becomes more effective and responsive to public calls.
Additionally, Mundian highlighted the need for increased night patrols and vigilance, urging officers to monitor their jurisdictions consistently to reduce crime rates. He reaffirmed that the government is committed to tackling crime with an iron fist and instructed the police to prioritize the establishment of a crime-free society.
