The second day of the Jarkhar Modern Rural Mini Olympic Games, organized with support from Royal Enfield, Coca-Cola, and Avon Cycles, featured exciting matches in hockey, football, kabaddi, and volleyball. Visitors also enjoyed exhibitions by various corporate houses.
Punjab Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sondh, the chief guest, declared Jarkhar Stadium as part of Punjab's sports heritage, announced a ₹5 lakh grant for Jarkhar Trust, and assured the installation of a full AstroTurf.
Dignitaries included Chairman of Ludhiana Improvement Trust Tarsem Singh Bhinder, Arjuna Awardee Sajjan Singh Cheema, AAP Chief Spokesperson Ahbab Singh Grewal, Vishal Cycles Manager Ashok Bawa, Manjit Singh (Canada), Satwinder Singh Sran (USA), Punjab Police SP Dev Singh, DSP Harjinder Singh Gill (Sadar Police Station), Amarinder Singh Rinku, and Manjit Singh Bachan Gas, who interacted with the teams.
Royal Enfield's Marketing Manager Manish Suhail, Area Manager Mohit Singh, and Diljit Narang from Delhi inaugurated the kabaddi matches.
Kabaddi Open – Naib Singh Grewal Jodha Kabaddi Cup (First Round) Results: Jodha defeated Battahari, Kanganwal defeated Nizampur, Kaind defeated Jaspal Bangar, Kadiana defeated Jarkhar, Jabbo Majra defeated Ghaloti, Padein defeated Ramgarh Bhullaran, Jargari defeated Jhorha, and Nandpur defeated Hathur.
Football Results: Battahari defeated Gill, Kadiana defeated Burj Hakima, Gagda defeated Dango, and Seelon defeated Mandiala, advancing to the semifinals.
Senior Hockey Matches: Ghawadi Club defeated PIS Ludhiana (8-4), Jalandhar defeated Qila Raipur (5-4).
Girls' Hockey Matches: Amargarh defeated Mundia Kala (2-0), PIS Bathinda defeated Lovely University (7-3), Amritsar defeated Rajpura (8-4), Punjabi University Patiala defeated Ludhiana (8-0).
Jarkhar Games Chairman Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu and President Advocate Harkamal Singh announced that the final day will feature kabaddi open finals, girls' football matches, and various hockey semifinals and finals.
Winning teams will be awarded by Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, AAP Punjab President & Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, and others. The final ceremony will be presided over by Sant Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal and MLA Jeevan Singh Sangowal.
The event will also feature live performances by renowned folk singers and special honors for six distinguished personalities.
