Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, had the honor of welcoming Hon’ble Mr. Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court and Chancellor of the University, on his visit to the campus. During his visit, His Lordship undertook a comprehensive review of the progress of the ongoing construction of the new girls' hostel and assessed the overall infrastructural development of the University.
Justice Sandhawalia meticulously inspected the construction site of the girls' hostel and emphasized the need for its timely completion to meet the growing residential requirements of the students so that the facilities are made operational at the earliest for the benefit of the students. Further, in a commitment to fostering academic excellence and a conducive learning environment, Hon’ble Justice Sandhawalia took cognizance of the challenges being faced by the University.
He paid special attention to concerns regarding the inadequacy of space for the University Library and faculty offices, acknowledging their critical role in enhancing academic and research pursuits. He advised the University to address these issues on a priority basis, ensuring that adequate space is allocated to support the academic needs of both students and faculty members.
The visit of the Hon’ble Chief Justice serves as a significant encouragement to the University’s administration, faculty, and students, reaffirming the commitment of the University’s leadership towards providing a world-class legal education.
