The School of Management at the Central University of Punjab, in collaboration with AIIMS Bathinda, organized the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment-sponsored 2nd One-Day Sensitization Programme on ‘Intergenerational Bonding for Youth’ on Tuesday.

More than 100 participants, comprising students from CU Punjab and delegates from AIIMS Bathinda led by Prof. Monika Kakkar and Ms. Tanya, enthusiastically took part in the programme. In his inaugural address, Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, CU Punjab, provided a thought-provoking reflection on generational changes and their impact on society.

He highlighted the growing intergenerational divide and emphasized the need for both younger and older generations to connect for a sustainable future. Prof. Tiwari encouraged the youth and elders to engage, share knowledge, and collaborate in fostering a society that prioritizes sustainability, wisdom, and mutual stewardship of the environment.

The inaugural session was followed by two lectures delivered by faculty members from the CU Punjab’s Department of Financial Administration. In the first session, Prof. Anand Thakur elaborated on the quality of intergenerational relationships and strategies to strengthen bonds between younger and older generations.

An interactive discussion ensued, where participants shared insights and proposed thoughtful solutions to bridge the intergenerational gap. The second session was conducted by Dr. Hareesh Kumar T., who discussed generational differences across various age groups, including Builders, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Y, Z, and Alpha, while also mentioning the upcoming Generation Beta, set to emerge in 2025.

The programme concluded with a resounding message on the importance of fostering intergenerational connections for a harmonious society.
