Haryana Women and Child Development Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini ,the government has implemented several schemes focused on the safety, empowerment, and self-reliance of women.
Smt. Shruti Choudhry was addressing the Basant Panchami Mahotsav organised by the Women and Child Development Department in Bhiwani. MLA, Sh. Ghanshyam Saraf and Commissioner and Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, Smt. Amneet P. Kumar, were also present.
She extended her wishes for Basant Panchami and said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi implemented the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign in Panipat, showcasing his deep connection with Haryana. She further shared her grandfather, former Chief Minister, Late. Chaudhary Bansi Lal’s progressive outlook on women’s empowerment which state government is also fulfilling.
Recalling a personal moment, she said that when her father passed away in an accident nearly two decades ago, her grandfather took the bold step of breaking societal norms and placing a turban on her head, symbolising strength and equality for women. Today, society recognises the importance of that decision.
She further emphasised the importance of collective efforts to make women self-reliant and empowered. She appealed to the officers and employees of the Women and Child Development Department to work with dedication and integrity to ensure that government schemes truly benefit women and children.
The Women and Child Development Minister said that in the first 100 days of the state government, 324 crèches were opened to support child care. Besides this, she mentioned the central government’s decision to increase the tax exemption limit from Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh in the budget, providing significant financial relief to the people.
Commissioner and Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, Smt. Amneet P. Kumar also shared about the various initiatives undertaken by the Women and Child Development Department for women and children. She appealed to the department officers and staff to actively participate in programmes like the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign and the malnutrition-free initiative.
She emphasised the importance of implementing such programmes effectively to ensure needy women receive the benefits of the government schemes.
