Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Vipul Goel said that no compromise will be tolerated with the quality of construction work. He directed to blacklist contractors compromising on quality work. Sh. Vipul Goel said this while presiding over a meeting of municipal bodies officers from across the state in Chandigarh .
Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh also remained present in the meeting. He said that the senior officers must visit the field at least once a week to ensure accurate reporting. This will prevent subordinate officers from misleading them and will also help in staying updated on all issues.
He said that ULB is a department whose efficiency is reviewed by the public everyday such as when people step out for morning walks and observe the sanitation conditions.
Emphasis on Cleanliness of Cities and Towns
Highlighting the importance of cleanliness Sh. Goel assured that there is no shortage of resources or Budget and said that no negligence will be tolerated in the matter. He further directed the officers for timely review of work in the district, he will also personally inspect in each district soon to assess the work being done, he added.
Sh. Vipul Goel directed officers to relocate the stray cattle to nearby gaushalas.Complete records of gaushalas are available online on the Gau Seva Aayog’s website, which provides information on the capacity of each gaushala.
The minister further stated that officers who perform well in relocating stray cattle in major cities and towns should be rewarded. At the same time, those who are negligent in their duties should be held accountable.
Resolve sewer overflow issues
Sh. Vipul Goel acknowledged that complaints about sewer overflows have been received from several major cities and directed officers to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. He said that there should be no complaints regarding sewerage or drinking water services anywhere in the state.
Remove encroachments from department’s land
He also directed officers to ensure that no unauthorized encroachments exist on department-owned land. Any such encroachment should be removed immediately, and the land records should be updated accordingly.
Commissioner and Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Sh. Vikas Gupta and other senior officers of the department also remained present.
