World's largest jungle safari to be set up in 10,000 acres in Aravalli region of Haryana : Rao Narbir Singh

Haryana's Forest and Wildlife Minister  Rao Narbir Singh said in the next six months, the foundation stone of a jungle safari in about 10,000 acres in the Aravalli region of Haryana will be laid by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. Setting up a jungle safari in the NCR region is the Prime Minister's dream project.

The Forest and Wildlife Minister was interacting with the press at the lion cub naming ceremony in Rohtak Zoo. Earlier, he toured the zoo riding an electric cart and observed the animals and birds kept in the zoo. He instructed the zoo officials to bring a white parrot which he had seen in the valley of Mauritius.

He named four of the seven cubs of Asiatic lion, including three males and four females. He named the male cubs Chaitanya and Veeru and the third male cub was named Sanju. He named two female cubs Diya and Navya. One female cub was named Chanchal by Deputy Commissioner Sh. Dhirendra Khadgata and the fourth female cub was named Annu. He took the little cub in his lap, cuddled it and also planted saplings in the zoo premises.

Sh. Rao Narbir Singh said he had recently visited the world's largest jungle safari established in Sharjah in 1,000 acres, which is very beautiful. He said the Prime Minister had shared his dream project of establishing a jungle safari in Delhi NCR region. The world's largest jungle safari will be established in 10,000 acres in the Aravalli region in Haryana. 

He has instructed Forest Department officials to remove 10 percent of Kabuli Kikar trees every year and plant Triveni or climate-friendly plants in their place.In response to a question asked about the budget, he said Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh is discussing with representatives of various sections and after the discussions, a good budget will be presented for the convenience of the common people. 

The government is continuously working in public interest.The minister rode an electric cart and observed the animals and birds kept in the zoo. He observed deer, ostrich, four-horned antelope, black deer, chinkara, small musk deer, Himalayan black bear, 22-year-old leopard, rosella parrot, crocodile, gharial, kachhwa, world's smallest monkey marmoset found in Brazil, Asiatic lion, tiger etc. and gathered information about them.

Additional Chief Secretary of Forest and Wildlife Department Sh. Vineet Garg, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Dhirendra Khadgata along with officers of other related departments, zoo officers and employees were present on the occasion.
