The Speakers Association and Study Circle (SAASC) at Punjab Engineering College (PEC) hosted VERVE 2025, North India’s largest quizzing festival, held on January 18 and 19, 2025. This grand event, organized in collaboration with Factaco, brought together quiz enthusiasts from esteemed institutions across the country, celebrating the spirit of intellectual curiosity and competition. 

Participants included teams from institutions such as IIT Delhi, IISER Mohali, IIT Ropar, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab University, Lovely Professional University, and FMS Delhi etc.

The festival featured four thrilling quizzes, each designed to test and expand participants’ knowledge across diverse domains. The India Quiz, titled "At the Stroke of the Quizzing Hour,"delved into the heart of India, exploring its history, culture, politics, sports, and more. 

The team Going Through Faiz comprising Shashank, Ankita, and Ayush emerged as the winners, showcasing exceptional knowledge and quick thinking. The second position was secured by Congrats All, represented by Gokul S, while IISER, featuring Mani Gupta, Aaryak Srivastava, and Yashwardhan Saini, finished third. 

The MELAS Quiz, called "Rhyme and Redemption, was a vibrant mix of trivia centered around Music, Entertainment, Literature, Art, and Sports. The team Hopes without Calvin, consisting of Balagopal Menon and Sumantra, claimed the top spot with their impressive performance. 

Congrats All, chaired by Gokul S, achieved the second position, while Going Through Faiz secured the third position, demonstrating consistency across events. In the General Quiz, titled "A Clockwork Knowledge, Going Through Faiz once again demonstrated their prowess by finishing first, further solidifying their reputation as formidable quizzers. 

The team WAKE AND BAKE, featuring Akash, Aahir, and Atharva, earned the second spot with a commendable effort. Hopes without Calvin, with Balagopal Menon and Sumantra, rounded off the podium in third place. 

In the Sci-Biz-Tech Quiz, "Deus Ex Quizza," the first place was secured by Going Through Faiz, consisting of Shashank, Ankita and Ayush, who displayed exceptional analytical and technical prowess. 

The second position was claimed by Congrats All, chaired by Gokul S, demonstrating remarkable knowledge and quick thinking. Hopes without Calvin, with Balagopal Menon and Sumantra rounded off the top three with an impressive performance.

VERVE 2025 was overseen by Professor Amandeep Kaur as the Event Convener, with the guidance of Dr. D.R. Prajapati, Dean of Student Affairs, and Dr. Puneet Chawla, Associate Dean of Student Affairs (Clubs). 

The event was successfully coordinated by Anirudh Ralhan, Mayank Bhatnagar, Nikhil Saini, Sachin Singh, and Survagya Bali as Convenors, along with Ritvik Arora as the Secretary and Amisha Kanwar as the Joint Secretary. 

Their collective efforts ensured the seamless execution of this highly anticipated quizzing festival. The event was proudly supported by corporate sponsors including Chandigarh Bytes, IDP (International Education Specialists), Lezaa Biotech, Taco Bell, Tanya Chugh (TC), Edwise, Anurag Bachan's Droanacharya-IAS, Next IAS, O2 IAS Academy, and Pulse. 

Their contributions played a significant role in making the festival a resounding success. This year’s edition showcased PEC’s commitment to fostering intellectual engagement, collaboration, and healthy competition among students.
