Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi Nidhi Malik on Wednesday conducted a comprehensive tour of Aspirational Block Thakrakote to assess the progress of the development works under the Aspirational Block Development Programme.

During her visit to Panchayat Ghar Panassa, she reviewed the initiatives being implemented to uplift the block and stressed the need for accelerated development. The DC’s visit focused on enhancing education, health, and infrastructure while addressing public grievances.

Later, DC Reasi inspected the Government Primary School in Garah and directed the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) to provide essential facilities, ensure proper seating arrangements for students, and improve the quality of education.

She emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene standards before serving mid-day meals. Reviewing health initiatives, the DC directed officials to prioritize tuberculosis (TB) eradication and ensure that all TB cases in the block receive timely and effective treatment, with the aim of making Thakrakote "TB Mukt."

The DC urged department heads to review and validate data to ensure accuracy, improve indicators, and achieve 100% target completion. She interacted with locals to address concerns related to education, road connectivity, water, and electricity, ensuring that their voices were heard.

She also inspected stalls set up by various departments and engaged with women from self-help groups, encouraging them to take an active role in the block's development. She reiterated her commitment to fostering inclusive growth and urged officials to intensify efforts to bring significant progress to Aspirational Block Thakrakote.
