An awareness programme was organized in Gurugram today as part of the Road Safety Week being celebrated by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. On this occasion, Haryana's Health and Family Welfare Minister Arti Singh Rao and Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Sh. Ranbir Singh Gangwa motivated citizens to follow traffic rules.
The Health Minister said the number of vehicles has increased significantly in Gurugram and the rest of the state due to which accidents are also increasing. In view of the accidents happening day by day, the state government has decided to establish a trauma center at every fixed distance on the main roads.
Calling upon the people to immediately help the injured in road accidents, the Health Minister said the first one hour is considered very important to save the life of an injured during a road accident. If proper treatment of the injured is started during this period, his life can be saved to a great extent.
Apart from this, emergency facility is also available 24 hours in government hospitals. Therefore, if any accident happens, efforts should be made to take the injured to the government hospital. Apart from this, the person who brings the injured to the hospital is also given honorarium by the Red Cross Society.
The Health Minister said the construction work of AIIMS-Rewari is in full swing and OPD services are expected to start in April. Similarly, a 700-bed super specialty hospital will be constructed in Gurugram at a cost of about Rs 1,000 crore. Medical colleges are being built in all 22 districts of the state due to the efforts of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
On the occasion, Sh. Ranbir Singh Gangwa said in view of the foggy weather, white stripes have been made on the main roads of the state for a distance of 3,700 km and on other roads for 14,000 km. He said to reduce the number of stray animals on roads, the Chief Minister has now increased the budget of Gau Seva Aayog to Rs 400 crore.
If a cow is registered by the gaushala, the expenses for its care are also borne by the aayog. Due to the efforts of the government, the number of stray animals has now reduced considerably. He said people should not make illegal speed breakers in front of their houses.
Such illegal speed breakers are being demolished by the Public Works Department. He said the government is paying special attention to quality in road construction work.
