The legal community is set to witness a significant milestone with the upcoming release of three groundbreaking legal texts on new criminal laws authored by Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, IAS (Retd.). The books titled "A Treatise and Commentary on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita", "A Treatise and Commentary on the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita", and "A Treatise and Commentary on the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam" are scheduled for release on January 23, 2025, at 4:30 PM.

This prestigious event will take place in the Main Punjab and Haryana Bar Association Room, located in the premises of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The function will be graced by the Hon'ble Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Sh. Sheel Nagu, who will officially release these texts.

Additionally, the ceremony will be presided over by Hon'ble Justice Mr. Ajay Kumar Mittal, Former Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh, bringing together the luminaries of the legal world. The event will commence with a welcome and introductory speech by Sh. Jasdev Singh Brar, Acting President of the High Court Bar Association, followed by proceedings conducted by Sh. Swarn Singh Tiwana, Honorary Secretary of the High Court Bar Association.

The release is expected to attract a large turnout of esteemed members of the Bar Association and distinguished officers, highlighting the importance and anticipation surrounding these publications. These legal texts provide a comprehensive and detailed commentary on "A Treatise and Commentary on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita," "A Treatise and Commentary on the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita," and "A Treatise and Commentary on the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam."

These volumes represent probably the first exhaustive commentary on these new criminal laws, addressing the nuances and complexities inherent within the statutes. Each legal text is presented in two volumes, totaling over 2500 pages per text, reflecting the depth and scope of analysis undertaken.

Published by Bright Law House, New Delhi, these books are designed to serve as definitive references for legal practitioners, academicians, and students, facilitating a deeper  understanding of India’s evolving legal landscape. Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, a retired IAS officer of the Haryana Cadre (1985 Batch) and currently the Chief National Commissioner of The Bharat Scouts and Guides, is an accomplished author with over three dozen books on various subjects.

His extensive body of work includes topics ranging from legal reform and management to art and culture, encompassing pivotal laws such as the Right to Information Act, Real Estate Regulation and Development Act, and more. His latest contributions focus on refining the understanding and implementation of new criminal laws in India, poised to redefine the legal landscape.

These texts provide a comprehensive analysis and commentary on the newly enacted Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, marking a transformative shift in the Indian legal system from colonial-era codes to more contextual, modern-day governance. The books are expected to serve as essential references for legal practitioners, scholars, and law enforcement agencies, guiding the effective application of these laws.

We invite all members of the legal community to join us in this historic event, which promises to be a significant step forward in the pursuit of justice and legal excellence.
