Haryana School Education and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, said that when every child in India practices yoga, the country will become the most powerful nation, both domestically and globally. He emphasized the importance of spreading this message to the masses. He said this statement while inaugurating the state-level Surya Namaskar Abhiyan 2025 at the Arya Public School auditorium in Panipat.
The Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda further said that by 2047, India will become a developed nation, with yoga playing a key role in this transformation. He credited Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi for successfully bringing yoga to the global stage. “We must embrace yoga in our thoughts, words, and actions. Good thoughts lead to the welfare of the world, and yoga is the path to global well-being,” he said.
Hundreds of children participated in the Surya Namaskar demonstration during the program. The Minister also emphasized that anyone who practices yoga regularly can overcome any challenge in life. “To improve our lives, we must incorporate yoga into our daily routines.
A healthy body is the first source of happiness, and yoga is the key to curing diseases,” he added. He said that today, yoga is being promoted in every village. He encouraged everyone to practice yoga, particularly Surya Namaskar, and to dedicate at least 20 to 25 minutes daily.
Yoga has now been incorporated into the educational curriculum, and its positive effects will be visible in the future. Dr. Jaideep Arya, Chairman, Haryana Yoga Commission, stated that yoga is an intrinsic and philosophical element of India’s culture. He credited Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Baba Ramdev for their relentless efforts to promote yoga worldwide.
Surya Namaskar is now being practiced in both government and private schools across the state. The Secondary School and NCERT have issued directives to all schools to make the initiative a success. Dr. Arya also mentioned that the 30-day Surya Namaskar campaign is dedicated to three prominent figures.
The campaign began on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, which is celebrated as National Youth Day. Haryana Governor Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya will join the campaign on January 23. On February 12, the birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini and the Health Minister will also participate in the programme.
Dr. Arya said that over 50 lakh people are expected to take part in this initiative, which aims to set a world record. The Haryana Government has officially made yoga a mandatory part of the school curriculum. Present at the event include Dr. Roshan Lal, Vice Chairman, Haryana Yoga Commission, and Sunil Bajaj, Joint Director of SCERT, among other distinguished guests.
