One of the fastest-growing Y2K fashion brand, Littlebox India, is the brainchild of LPU alumna Rimjim Deka Kakati. Lovely Professional University (LPU) hosted Rimjim Deka for a talk aimed at inspiring students to chase their entrepreneurial dreams. Littlebox India garnered nationwide attention after securing an impressive all-shark deal on Shark Tank India, where it received an investment of Rs. 75 lakhs for a 2.5% equity stake, valuing the brand at a remarkable Rs. 30 crores.
Littlebox India achieved remarkable growth with gross revenue of Rs. 36 crores in the year 2024, all bootstrapped so far. The insightful session centered on the crucial role of passion, perseverance, and strategic thinking in building a successful business. Rimjim Deka shared her inspiring journey of building Littlebox India, a zero-waste fashion brand focused on affordability, inclusivity, and sustainability.
She attributed much of her success to LPU, where she gained exposure to diverse perspectives and valuable life lessons that boosted her confidence as an entrepreneur. She shared the challenges she faced in transitioning from a steady job to launching her own business. "Stepping into entrepreneurship without much exposure to startups and business was daunting.
When I started Littlebox India, I had just one delivery person and packed all the orders myself. It was tough at the beginning, but with consistency, self-belief, and relentless effort, things do get better." She also spoke about the importance of having a strong support system.
She credited her husband, ParthaKakati, her co-founder, for his firm support in managing finances, operations, and inventory, while she focused on the creative side of the business. Dr. Col. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, expressed immense pride in hosting such an inspiring pioneer. Dr. Mittal stated, "It’s amazing to witness how our students are not only achieving remarkable success but also setting new standards of excellence.
