Kaithal , 10 Jan 2025

Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labor Minister Anil Vij said that "Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to take the country into the bullet train era. However, some departments are still functioning at the pace of a bullock cart. Hence, I have strictly instructed all officers to speed up their work and resolve people's problems immediately."

As part of this effort, during the District Grievance Redressal Committee meeting in Kaithal today, Sh. Vij directed the suspension of Investigating Officer ASI Sukhdev for failing to take appropriate and timely action in the case of a young schoolboy's death caused by a vehicle accident. Similarly, in another case, he ordered a chargesheet against a Gram Sachiv.

While interacting the media persons after the District Grievance Redressal Committee meeting today in Kaithal. When asked about the suspension of a police officer in Kaithal, Sh. Vij said that "The officer failed to act appropriately for a long time. The seriousness expected in such a case, where a young child lost their life. Rules mandate that a bus must have a conductor responsible for safely handing over children to their guardians.

However, in this case, the child was left on the road, resulting in their death. No action was being taken, and even now, they claim to have written to the school for rules clarification. The District Education Officer has already stated that the school is responsible for ensuring children reach their guardians safely. There was no bus conductor appointed. Necessary actions will be taken in the future, he said."

Responding to a question about a ₹30 lakh penalty for discharging dirty water into a drain, Sh. Vij said that "I have ordered that this grievance be included in the next meeting, along with the necessary actions and report submissions." Addressing questions about transformer replacements, Sh. Vij stated that "There were allegations that the department demanded money privately for the work.

I have taken this seriously and ordered an investigation into all transformers and poles replaced over the past year. An SIT will be formed to determine whether appropriate fees were charged and deposited." Regarding electricity meters, he said that "We (the Energy Department) are going to install smart meters with both prepaid and postpaid options. This process is ongoing, and the new meters will greatly benefit people."

750 New Buses and Nutritious Food at Bus Stops

Talking about changes in the Transport Department, he said that "We are purchasing 750 buses. Additionally, I have instructed the department to collaborate with Haryana Tourism to provide clean and nutritious food at all bus stops. If Haryana Tourism cannot assist, we will explore similar partnerships with the Railways, which serves meals nationwide. A similar system will be implemented in Haryana to ensure passengers get affordable and wholesome food."

On being asked about not being allocated the Home Ministry, Sh. Vij said that "I am a party worker. Even if I am not given a single department, I will still perform my duties. I am a seven-time MLA and have been serving since 1990. I fulfill the responsibilities assigned to me."

Commenting on farmers' protests, Sh. Vij said, "Farmers are protesting on Punjab's land, under the AAP government led by Kejriwal. Neither Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann nor any minister has addressed the farmers' concerns, even though farmer leader Dallewal is on a hunger strike.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court's orders are also being ignored. This raises suspicions about the AAP government's intentions. Are they waiting for a mishap to exploit the situation politically? Punjab's government must resolve the issue through dialogue with farmers."

Questioning the AAP's Comments on UP and Bihar Residents

Addressing remarks by AAP leaders about creating voter lists with UP and Bihar residents, Sh. Vij said that "Are the people of UP and Bihar purchasable assets for the AAP? UP gave us Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, whose teachings are known worldwide.

Similarly, Bihar is the land where Buddha attained enlightenment. Can these people be bought or manipulated for votes? Such comments reflect the AAP's desperation and frustration over their impending election defeat."
