Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that the agricultural sector in Haryana holds immense potential. Through modern technology and organic farming, farmers can increase profits and establish the State as a leader in agriculture, fruit, and vegetable production, achieving significant success in exports as well.
Sh. Shyam Singh Rana visited villages Mallekan, Khari Surera, Abubshahar, and the Fruit Excellence Center in Mangeana in Sirsa district on Wednesday. During the visit, he interacted with progressive farmers. He said that the central and state governments have taken numerous impactful steps in favour of farmers.
The Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister said that the Haryana Government has decided to purchase 24 crops at MSP, the highest in the country. This decision has economically empowered the state’s farmers, said Sh. Shyam Singh Rana. The Agriculture Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers and assured a 100 percent resolution of their issues.
The government has implemented several schemes aimed at strengthening the farmers economically and doubling their income. The initiative to form Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) has enabled farmers to secure better market prices. State's farmers set new benchmarks through their hard work, said Sh. Shyam Singh Rana.
At Mallekan village, the Agriculture Minister met with progressive farmers from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana at the farm of Jasjit Singh Sandhu and discussed in detail the provision of better agricultural facilities for farmers. Subsequently, he attended a programme organized by the Farmer Producer Organization in Khari Surera village and inspected the Kinnow Vaccine Plant in Abubshahar village.
He also reviewed the processes of sorting, grading, cold rooms and staging units, pre-cooling units, cold storage, transport, and other facilities. He assured that the government is leaving no stone unturned to resolve farmers' problems promptly.
