Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr. Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting of line departments to review arrangements for the Republic Day-2025 celebrations at the District Headquarters.
It was decided that the main function will be held at Kathua Sports Stadium, where the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest, followed by a parade comprising contingents from J&K Police, CRPF, PTS, Home Guards, NCC cadets and school children.
The celebrations will commence with Shehnai Vadan to be played by the Information Department in the early hours of the day. The meeting included detailed discussions on key arrangements such as drinking water, power supply, sanitation, barricading, security, traffic regulation, seating arrangements, fire safety, medical teams, and illumination of government buildings and landmarks.
Dr. Minhas directed all departmental heads to ensure that necessary arrangements are in place well in advance for the smooth and enthusiastic celebrations of the national event. He emphasized inter-departmental coordination to make the function a grand success.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged district and sectoral officers to ensure the active participation of all officials in the celebrations. The meeting was attended by SSP Kathua Shobit Saxena, ADDC Kathua Surinder Mohan, ASP Kathua, ADC Kathua, CPO, XEN PWD and other senior officers from Civil Administration and Police.
