Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla flagged off a vehicle carrying relief material for the families affected by the massive fire in Tandi village of Banjar sub-division in Kullu district, through the State Red Cross from Raj Bhavan here today. Expressing grief over the incident in Tandi village, the Governor said, "The fire has destroyed the heritage of the place, which can’t be replaced.
He said that relief operations were being conducted in Tandi village. The Red Cross has sent blankets, tarpaulins, kitchen sets, family tents etc. for this affected. He said that vehicles carrying winter relief material were also being sent to other districts of the State including Kinnaur, Shimla, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Una districts for the needy.
Secretary to Governor C.P. Verma and State Red Cross officials were also present on the occasion.
