Kathua Admin launches free Hearse Van service

The District Administration Kathua has launched a free-of-cost hearse van service provided to administration by Chenab Textile Mills under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The noble initiative aims to provide dignified last rites to the deceased by ensuring hassle-free and respectful transportation of the deceased to the cremation ground.

The hearse van service was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Rakesh Minhas in the presence of ADC Ranjit Singh besides Executive President of Chenab Textile Mills Umesh Gupta and other district officials. 

The service will be available through the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) during office hours within the Municipal limits of Kathua wherein people can make calls and coordinate the services on a First-Come-First-Served (FCFS) basis.

The District Administration Kathua expressed its gratitude to the management Chenab Textile Mills for its generous contribution towards the noble cause. This initiative will provide immense relief to the families of the deceased, ensuring a dignified and respectful last ritual.

The public can utilize this free service by contacting the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) at 01922238796 and 7889958093. The District Administration Kathua has appealed to the public to take advantage of this service and support this noble initiative.

The DC, while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the noble gesture of Chenab Textile Mills for providing the Hearse Van service under their CSR initiative. He stated that this initiative will provide immense relief to the families of the deceased, ensuring a dignified and respectful farewell. 

The Deputy Commissioner assured that the District Administration will ensure seamless coordination and smooth operation of the service, and appealed to the public to utilize this free service and support this noble initiative.

The hearse van service will be operated by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, through the Red Cross Fund. To ensure the sustainability and expansion of this noble initiative of the administration, the philanthropic individuals and organisations willing or desirous to make contributions can contribute to this humanitarian cause by making donations to the District Red Cross Fund, Kathua, which will be utilized exclusively for the operation and maintenance of the hearse van service. ‎
