The sub-committee of the group of Ministers constituted under the chairmanship of Cabinet Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar to reorganize the administrative unit i. e new district, tehsil, sub-tehsil etc. today. The committee has started working swiftly and has already conducted two meetings, where four significant decisions were made. 

The meeting was attended by other committee members, Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Vipul Goel, and Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana. During the meeting, it was decided that Mandola village in Mahendragarh district will now come under the Satnali sub-tehsil, and village Bareilly Kalan of district Rewari will be removed from sub-tehsil Palhawas and included in tehsil Rewari.

Similarly, Gundiana village in Yamunanagar district will be moved from Radaur tehsil to Saraswati Nagar sub-tehsil. Also, in Faridabad, sectors 15, 15A, and 16A will be shifted from Badkhal tehsil to the Faridabad registration segment. Sectors 21A and 21B will be moved from Faridabad tehsil to the tehsil Badkhal registration segment. 

After the meeting, Sh. Panwar extended New Year 2025 greetings to the people of the state and the media, wishing for a prosperous year ahead.  He said that as per the demand of the people various proposals were received from Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti, Municipality and local MLAs.

These proposals were reviewed during the meetings, and decisions will be made based on recommendations from district commissioners and adherence to specific guidelines. If the criteria are found correct, then the committee decides to include a new district, new sub-division, tehsil, sub-tehsil and any village from one district to another district and from one tehsil to another tehsil or sub-tehsil.

Sh. Panwar said that the criteria for creating a sub-tehsil include,10 or above villages, 5 to 10 patwar circles, population of 60,000 and above, an area of 15,000 hectares and above, and a distance of 15 kilometers from the subdivision headquarters. For a tehsil, the criteria include 20 and above villages, two sub-tehsils, more than 5 patwar circles, a population of 80,000 and above, an area of 15,000 hectares and above, and a distance of 15 kilometers from a subdivision. 

For a subdivision, there should be 40 and above villages, at least one and above tehsil or sub-tehsil, more than 15 patwar circles, a population 1 lakh and above, an area 15,000 hectares and above, and a distance of at least 10 kilometers from the district headquarters. 

In the case of new districts, the requirements include 125 to 200 villages, 1 to 2 subdivisions, 1 to 3 tehsils or sub-tehsils, a population of 4 lakhs and above, an area of 80,000 hectares and above, and a distance of 25 to 40 kilometers from other district headquarters.  Sh. Panwar also said that proposals for creating new districts like Gohana, Hansi, Assandh, Safidon, and Dabwali have been received. 

Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, along with other officers also remained present.
