Aam Aadmi Party MP from Sangrur, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, has brought laurels to Punjab by winning five titles in the Parliamentarians Badminton Tournament. The Annual National Parliamentarians Badminton Tournament was held at the Constitution Club of India (CCI) in New Delhi.
Meet Hayer participated in five categories and won titles in all of them. Before becoming an MP, Meet Hayer also served as Punjab’s Sports Minister. He secured victories in the MPs’ Singles category, Doubles category, Mixed Doubles category, MPs versus Delhi Lawyers’ team matches, and MPs versus Non-MPs team matches, clinching the title in every final match.
Meet Hayer, an excellent badminton and cricket player, was earlier awarded as “Man of the Match” in a cricket match between legislators from Punjab and Haryana in Chandigarh. Speaking on the occasion, he said that sports are an integral part of society, and in today’s era, everyone should participate in sports to maintain fitness.
He added that this not only boosts the morale of players but also serves as an inspiration to society.
