The inauguration of the one-day skill enhancement programme for government high school teachers of eight mandals of Guntur district was organized by the School of Advanced Sciences at VIT-AP University.
With the suggestion of the honourable minister of state for human resources development, Sri Nara Lokesh, VIT-AP has been instrumental through this program and also by adopting 5 government schools of the Sakhamuru, Velagapudi and Inavolu villages of the capital development region of Amaravati.
This program is mainly aimed at training teachers on upgrading software usage abilities for solving mathematical problems and skills of experimental design and conduction in Physics and chemistry while educating high school students.
The inaugural ceremony attended by 47 government high school teachers was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. SV Kota Reddy, Registrar, Prof. M Jagadish Chandra and Dean, School of Advanced Sciences, Prof. S Srinivas.
Speaking on the occasions Prof. SV Kota Reddy-Vice Chancellor said that VIT-AP has been offering free education and hostel facilities to village government junior college toppers of 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh every year under STAR Scheme.
The need for upgrading knowledge and teaching skills are in line with NEP 2020 to train the upcoming generations of students fit for realizing VIKSIT BHARAT-2047 was emphasized. Prof. M Jagadish Chandra - Registrar said that VIT-AP will be conducting more of such programs as a responsible social player and asked for prompt and meticulous implementation of the learned skills while teaching and training school children.
The organising committee headed by Dr M Phani kumar sincerely thanked the district educational officer, CV Renuka for facilitating this skill enhancement program.
