Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini expressed gratitude to Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi for choosing the historic land of Panipat for the nationwide launch of Bima Sakhi Yojana. Addressing the gathering during the programme held on Monday at Panipat, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that  Haryana is a land that symbolizes sacrifice, patience, valor, and service, and is once again inspired to convey a message of women empowerment.

Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya, Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Sh. Manohar Lal, Union Minister of State, Rao Inderjit Singh, Haryana Cabinet Ministers, Smt. Shruti Choudhry and Kumari Arti Singh Rao also remained present on this occasion.

The Prime Minister recalled that in 2015, from this historic land of Panipat, the Prime Minister had laid the foundation of the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign. Today, the Prime Minister, by launching Bima Sakhi Yojana, has taken yet another historic step towards the upliftment and empowerment of women. He reaffirmed Haryana's commitment to contributing maximally to the development of India and ensuring the success of the Bima Sakhi Yojana.

The Chief Minister said that this new initiative will make women self-reliant and enable them to contribute significantly to building a developed India. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi for this initiative and also thanked him for laying the foundation stone of the main campus of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University.

While addressing the national level function organized in district Panipat, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Prime Minister had once stated that India's development is possible only when 50 percent of its population—women—become empowered. If women join the mainstream and contribute to the country's economy, India’s progress is assured.

Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao has Transformed Haryana, State now shines as a Beacon of Women Empowerment, CM

The Chief Minister said that about nine years ago, on January 22, 2015, from this historic land, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi had launched the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign. Thanks to this campaign, Haryana has witnessed a remarkable improvement in its gender ratio, which has risen from 871 to 916.

The Chief Minister said that the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign has completely transformed Haryana. The State has now emerged as a beacon of women's empowerment. This transformation is evident as the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has chosen Panipat to inaugurate initiatives focused on women. 

On behalf of the people of Haryana, he assured that the ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’ would be made as successful as the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign.

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister considers women as one of the four pillars of a developed India. To increase women’s participation in Indian democracy, the central government has granted them 33 percent reservation in legislatures. Inspired by this, the Haryana government has also taken concrete steps for women's empowerment.

He shared that the central government has set a target of making 5 lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’  (women with incomes exceeding Rs. 1 lakh annually) in the state. So far, 1,45,773 women have achieved this milestone. Additionally, to promote the ‘Namo Drone Didi’ vision, the state government is providing free drone pilot training to 5,000 women from 500 self-help groups.

The Chief Minister said that colleges have been established every 20 kilometers to provide higher education close to home for daughters. In the past decade, 77 government colleges have been opened, including 32 exclusively for girls. Furthermore, under the ‘Har-Ghar Grihini Yojana,’  poor families receive a gas cylinder for just Rs. 500 per month. Women are being made self-reliant by connecting them with self-help groups. 

So far, 56,000 women’s self-help groups have been formed, with an enrolment of 6,50,000 women. Besides this, 33 percent reservation has been provided to women in the allocation of ration depots.

Youth now get government jobs on merit, putting an end to age-old Parchi Kharchi Culture, CM

The Chief Minister also emphasized the government’s steps for youth welfare, employment, and skill development programs. In its third term, the state government has provided 26,000 government jobs without Parchi Karchi.  To date, 1,71,000 government jobs have been given. He expressed special thanks to the Prime Minister for appreciating Haryana’s initiative during the Rozgaar Mela on October 29.

The Chief Minister said that inspired by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s philosophy of ‘Antyodaya’, the state government is providing free-of-cost dialysis facilities to kidney patients in government hospitals and medical colleges. Additionally, free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme has been extended to senior citizens above the age of 70.
