Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh on Friday dedicated a 30-bedded government hospital in Ludhiana North constituency.Rajya Sabha MP Sanjiv Arora, MLAs Madan Lal Bagga, Ashok Parashar Pappi, Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, Chairman Punjab State Cooperative Agricultural Development Bank Suresh Goyal, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, Director Health Services Dr Hitender Kaur and others were present on the occasion.

In the first phase, this hospital will be operated as 10-bedded facility and later will be expanded to 30-beds. Required staff including two Medical Officers, nurses, pharmacists and etc have also been deputed here. This building has been constructed at a cost of Rs 4.25 crores and will offer quality Medical services to the people of nearby locality including daily general OPD, emergency, dental, Mother and Child services, EYE, x-rays and basic lab tests. 

Dialysis services will also be started here.The Cabinet Minister also added that till next year, five Health centres will be opened for the public so that people can avail quality medical services to the people near their localities. He also stated that 17 new doctors have already been appointed for Ludhiana and 24-hours emergency Medical services will be ensured at the district hospitals.

The Minister also spoke about the Aam Aadmi Clinics, CM Di Yogshalla, Frishtey, Sadak Surakhya Force projects and stated that these programs have been yielding encouraging results. He also lashed out at the previous governments for not operating this UCHC since 2014.

Dr. Singh reaffirmed the state government's commitment, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to create a healthier Punjab. By January 2025, the Ludhiana Civil Hospital will be transformed into a state-of-the-art medical facility, offering services comparable to private corporate hospitals. 

He acknowledged the support of Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora. He stated that the aim is to equip civil hospitals in all districts with essential equipment, medication, and facilities needed for patients' physical and psychological recovery.Meanwhile in his address, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjiv Arora announced Rs 10 lakh for the hospital and a new hi-tech ambulance for Ludhiana West Constituency.
