Haryana Governor and Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Bandaru Dattatreya inaugurated the Haryana Pavilion on Thursday at Purushottampura Bagh, located on the sacred banks of Brahma Sarovar in the holy city of Kurukshetra.

The pavilion, established under the joint aegis of the Kurukshetra University (KU) and the Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB), was lauded by the Governor as a "mirror of Haryanvi culture," showcasing the state's vibrant folk art and heritage.Governor Shri Dattatraya praised the Kurukshetra University for its commendable efforts in promoting and preserving Haryanvi culture, extending special recognition to Vice Chancellor Prof Somnath Sachdeva for his contributions. 

He remarked that, as part of the International Gita Jayanti celebrations, the university and KDB have successfully brought the essence of Haryana's folk traditions to a global audience.

Distinguished guests, including Kerala Governor Shri Arif Mohammad Khan, Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmeet Singh, Tanzania's Youth Culture and Art Minister Tabia Maulid, and renowned Gita scholar Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj, joined Governor Shri Dattatraya in visiting the pavilion's diverse exhibits.

Governor Shri Arif Mohammad Khan highlighted the pavilion's role in educating the younger generation about Haryana's ancient culture and heritage, emphasizing its global recognition.Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmeet Singh expressed pride in the preservation of cultural values and commended the pavilion for celebrating the richness of rural Haryanvi traditions. Minister Tabia Maulid from Tanzania admired the pavilion as a vibrant showcase of multifaceted Haryanvi folk culture.

Prominent attendees included District Deputy Commissioner Smt Neha Singh, Padma Shri awardee Shri Mahavir Guddu, KDB Honorary Secretary Shri Upendra Singhal, and other esteemed dignitaries such as Captain Paramjit Singh, Ashok Rosha, Prof Vivek Chawla, Dr MK Moudgil, Dr Abid Ali, and Dr Kuldeep Arya.The Haryana Pavilion stands as a beacon of cultural pride, blending the state's rich rural traditions with the spirit of the International Gita Jayanti celebrations.
