MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla today raised the issue of dirt spread on Tung Dhab Drain and Budha Nala in Lok Sabha. He demanded from the government to form a committee and visit both the places to take stock of the situation. He also emphasized that due to the dirt in these drains, people's lives have become mortal.

MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla, while speaking before the presiding Jagdambika Pal, said that the problem of dirty water is at its peak in Punjab at this time. Corporation water, dairy water and industry water are going into Tung Dhab drain in Amritsar and Budha drain in Ludhiana, due to which the level of water is so dirty that it cannot even be treated.

He said that due to this water, cancer patients are increasing in many cities of Punjab, especially in cities like Fazilka, Moga, Abohar, the number of cancer patients is increasing continuously. He said that this is a very serious issue. Pollution department is not doing anything, drainage department is also silent and corporation is also not taking this issue seriously.

He said that central government is washing its hands off by calling it a state issue but people are suffering. He said that people have come out on the streets but the state government is also not doing anything. MP Aujla said that it is the responsibility of the government to solve this issue and provide clean water to the people.

He demanded that the central government should form a committee for this issue and get that committee to visit both the places and then prepare such a project that people get clean water and people's lives can be saved.
