District Development Commissioner (DC) Doda Harvinder Singh presided over the weekly Block Diwas Programme at Panthan, Block Thathri, where he addressed public grievances and reviewed the implementation of the welfare schemes.

The event, attended by ADDC Pran Singh, officers of line departments, and public representatives, served as a platform for citizens to raise their issues, demands, and feedback directly before the administration.

The programme aimed to strengthen grassroots governance and ensure the timely resolution of public concerns. Meanwhile, Block Diwas Programmes were organized at other venues, including Block Headquarters Bhalla in Sub-Division Bhaderwah; Bhatyas in Sub-Division Gandoh and PWD Guest House Baggar in Sub-Division Assar.

District and sectoral officers were present at all locations to provide on-the-spot solutions and raise awareness about individual and community welfare schemes. Public representatives actively participated, presenting demands related to road connectivity, electricity, water supply, healthcare, education, and infrastructure development.

Key demands raised by citizens included the renovation of school buildings, up-gradation of a middle school to a high school, expediting the Hirani-Premnagar road project, installation of a new transformer in Premnagar, and improved ambulance services in the area.

The DC directed concerned officers to resolve these issues within a stipulated time frame. He announced that the ongoing work on the sports stadium, being developed at a cost of ₹3 crore, is progressing steadily.

Furthermore, he instructed the ACD Doda to expedite MGNREGA works and the PMGSY officials to ensure blacktopping and walling of roads. The DC further assured the public that a proposal for the upgradation of the middle school would be forwarded to the Civil Secretariat.

The CMO was directed to relocate the health center to a more accessible location, while the BMO was asked to prioritize ambulance services in the region, with a driver to be arranged promptly. Acknowledging delays in project execution due to the election schedule, the DC assured that pending works would resume in the new financial year.

The DC also listened to the issues of pony walas and ensured that the same shall be resolved by taking up the matter with the concerned department. He asked them to avoid illegal sand lifting. He further assured them to provide them works under MGNREGA.

The DC also directed to organise 3 days camp in the area to inform the public about various government schemes.
