Haryana's Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Shruti Choudhry has said that every officer of the department should go in the field and listen to the problems of people. She has also asked the officers to prepare a duty chart which should have complete information about the work being assigned to every officer.
She said if the officer who has been assigned duty does not go in the field, strict action will be taken against him. She herself will also go in the field to see the implementation of schemes at the ground level. Smt. Shruti Choudhry stated this during a review meeting with officials of Women and Child Development Department here today.
She obtained information about the quality and distribution of food given to women and children under the PM Poshan Yojana and the distribution of fortified flour, rice, panjiri and milk to women and children. She said development of a child's brain is the highest from birth to next two years. Therefore, they should be given a good diet.
The minister instructed officials to ensure that nutritious food reaches Anganwadi centres on time. She also discussed with the officials about making Mahila Chaupal and building new Anganwadi centers, as promised in the party's manifesto. Along with this, necessary instructions were given to the officials regarding the standards of development of children up to six years in the state.
While giving instructions, Smt. Shruti Choudhary said the information of all the schemes being run by the government for women should be made available to the people so that every eligible person can take advantage of it. During the meeting, the officials informed the minister that a toll free number has been launched by the department on which people can give any information about feticide or fetal sex determination, for which they will be given a reward of Rs 1 lakh.
Additional Chief Secretary of Women and Child Development Department, Smt. Amneet P. Kumar, Director of the Department Smt. Monica Malik and senior officials were present in the meeting.
