Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, on Sunday, attended a felicitation ceremony in Poothar village, Panipat district. The programme was organized in honor of Kargil Martyr Havildar Vijay.
Addressing the villagers, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that martyrs are a source of inspiration for all of us, and their sacrifices should never be forgotten. He assured the villagers to set up an e-library and a main gate in the village after the name of martyr Vijay. The Cabinet Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Sainik Bhawan Complex, to be built in Balana village. He also gave Rs. 21 lakh from his discretionary fund for the complex.
The Minister said that every tenth soldier in the Indian Army is from Haryana, and the Central Government has honored soldiers by implementing the One Rank One Pension scheme. He emphasized that both the Central and State Governments respect martyrs and their families.
He acknowledged that the freedom we enjoy today is a result of the sacrifices and dedication of martyrs to the nation. The government ensures special care for martyrs’ families, providing Rs. 1 crore as financial assistance and provisions for jobs to their family members.
Krishan Lal Panwar said that the government aims to provide employment to 2 lakh youth in the coming years. E-libraries will be set up in 1,000 villages, and gyms will be opened for the youth in rural areas. He said that cultural centers for women will be opened in more than 6,500 villages and around 1,000 centers will be ready by next year.
Work on this initiative has already begun. He said that the present state government is focusing on providing basic amenities in villages, and efforts are underway to complete the pending works.The Minister said that development works are being prioritized, with a focus on merit instead of favouritism, resulting in the selection of thousands of children without ‘kharchi, parchi’.
He said that plans have been made for the renovation of more than 19,000 ponds across the state.During the programme, he also listened to the grievances of the people and assured the fulfillment of demands presented by the Gram Panchayat.
