To review enforcement measures to combat the drug menace, District Magistrate Reasi Vishesh Mahajan on Saturday chaired the District-Level Narco Coordination Center (NCORD) meeting.
The session witnessed active participation from key stakeholders, including the Police, Health, Education, Social Welfare, and Transport Departments. The meeting focused on fostering inter-departmental collaboration to strengthen the district's anti-drug initiatives.
The District Magistrate directed the police to intensify anti-drug drives across Reasi to identify and ensure preventive detention of drug dealers. He highlighted that the sports and education can play great role in fighting drug menace and engaging Sportspersons as Youth icons.
He also instructed educational institutions to take proactive measures, including organizing anti-drug awareness sessions during morning assemblies and installing CCTV cameras in shadow areas within school and college premises.
He also directed transport department for random drug testing of drivers. The DM Reasi directed Police officials to scale up monitoring of Criminals especially Bovine smugglers, thieves who are mostly involved in drug trades.
He urged all departments to work collectively to spread Public awareness through sustained campaigns, community engagement programs and strict enforcement measures to root out drug menace from the district. ADC Reasi Kulbushan Khajuria, PO (ICDS) Mohammad Anwar Banday, DySP Neeraj Padyar and other officials were present.
